ARTSOUTH hosts the Service Learning
Program for several local high schools. This highly
successful program brings at risk high school students
to ArtSouth to learn painting, ceramics, clay, fashion
design or Photoshop from
ArtSouth artists. The students then go out into the
community to teach what they have learned to adults
center and special needs children.
Service Learning
is a teaching/learning method that connects meaningful
community service experience with learning. The
meaningful service will meet a real community need and
the learning objectives and activities will be directly
linked to specific Sunshine State Standards.
The combination of
experiential learning and personal satisfaction that
students gain from helping others makes Service Learning
an effective teaching and learning tool.

The 2009 After
School Theatre Arts Program,
which provided an intense workshop-based program
for middle and high school students, was
supported by a grant from Dade Community
Foundation, Greater Miami’s permanent
endowment made possible by generous donors since
1967.”
Established in
1967, Dade Community Foundation is Grater
Miami’s permanent philanthropic endowment for
enhancing the quality of life of all Miami-Dade
County residents. The foundation provides
nonprofit organizations funding support and
technical assistance for programs which benefit
the community. For its many donors, the
foundation provides an effective vehicle for
charitable giving and grant making expertise
about quality programs across a broad spectrum
of community issues and needs.

$60 per week, in 2-week
sessions, registration fee $15
Enjoy our open
house, providing the opportunity
to meet ArtSouth studio artists, ArtSouth staff
and other art-loving guests between 3 and 7pm.
Receptions from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
FREE and open to the public. Refreshments and
parking are also free.
