about Fernando Vallejo

 

Born December 4, 1964 in Havana Cuba, Fernando began to study art at the age of five at the Maximo Gomez Library in Havana, where he won several international awards in the children's painting category in India and Japan.
In 1976 he joined the famous San Alejandro Arts Academy. In 1984 he graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from the Instituto Politecnico.
Between 1980 and 1993 he won several national awards in painting and grahic design, notably the "Gonzalez Puig" Art Competition.
Arriving in the United States in 1994, his work was included in an exhibit in Washington, D.C., which subject matter was about the suffering of the Cuban people, sponsored by a Cuban-American congressman.
In 1997 Vallejo joined the "Bird Road ArtConnection" and his work was included in an exhibit at the Mexican consulate. The same year he participated in an exhibit at Palmetto Hospital sponsored by the Medical Affairs Committee.
